Ingredients

  • 4 pink peppercorns
  • 70 grams Concord grapes (~8-10 large grapes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup sweet potato shochu

Instructions

  1. Crush the pink peppercorns in the bottom of a shaker with a muddler.
    Crushed pink peppercorns give this grape and shochu cocktail a fragrant warmth.
  2. Add the grapes and honey and muddle them until there are no large chunks of grape left.
    Muddle the Concord grapes to release their flavor and color.
  3. Add the sweet potato shochu and a few large ice cubes. 

    Add ice and sweet potato shochu to the cocktail.
  4. Shake until chilled.

    Shake the Grape Escape.
  5. Pour the grape escape into a chilled martini glass through a tea strainer and garnish with grapes.
    Fragrant and sweet, this Grape Escape is a perfect late summer cocktail combining shochu, grapes, honey and pink peppercorns.
